Hey hey, we’re already in June! May has been a jam packed month and we made a lot of progress in our product development. We’re excited to get started on Creds Beta and we’re also working on the final parts of new community engagement activities, and we think you’re going to love it. More on that next month. 😎 Let’s take a recap of the past month. 💻 Product Updates 💻 There was a lot of work done in the background in May. cheqd’s Product Suite generally fits into three key work streams which have various interdependencies. These are: ⭐ Creds - our customer facing reputation-centred credentials app. ⭐ Credential Service - a product for clients to issue, verify and revoke credentials, more details to be announced to the community soon. ⭐ Payment Rails - payments for Verifiable Credentials (VC) that enable each party in a digital identity ecosystem to be rewarded for their participation in the network. 🥾 Creds 🥾 With the initial research phase for Creds.xyz complete, we’re in the final stages of ramping up the Creds App to a Private Beta release - the first step in opening Creds to an external audience. The Private Beta includes a select group of Cosmos, Web3 and SSI community-focused individuals who will be invited to start playing with the app, claiming and sharing their ‘Creds’, and sharing their feedback with us. This will be followed by the launch of Creds to the cheqd community, following the implementation of key feedback… stay tuned! Join the Creds waitlist to be one of the first to claim a Cred! 🆔 Credential Service 🆔 We've been building the foundations for a product for Decentralised Identifiers (DIDs) and Verifiable Credential (VC) operations. Through API service, it will become far easier for our partners and clients to utilise our identity functionality in a more lightweight way. More details to be shared soon. 🚅 Payment Rails 🚅 We’re thrilled to have successfully demoed an end-to-end flow as part of Phase 1 in our payment rails journey, centred on testing a payment-gated revocation check within our Veramo SDK plugin. This is a major milestone towards having a customer-facing and easily consumable version of payment rails within our identity tooling, SDKs and APIs. 🔍 Explorer Update 🔍 We have updated the cheqd Block Explorer to list the top account holders of $CHEQ transparently across mainnet and testnet. Although, initially scheduled for Q3, we completed it earlier. This was a feature that the community had been eager for us to build, with Community Proposals such as "Improving the Explorer" and "Balancing transparency and privacy", both clearly articulating the desire for improved optics and transparency over $CHEQ accounts. We're incredibly thankful for our engaged community who kickstarted this work - and we hope this incentivises more community members to continue creating proposals and making suggestions. 😎 cheqd Foundation Delegation Programme 2023 😎 We’re thrilled to announce the cheqd Foundation Delegation Programme 2023 with the Delegation Pool of up to 150 million CHEQ tokens! cheq out the criteria here. 🏦 Reimagining Banking with Reusable KYC- Banner 🏦 Javed Khattak explores why current Know Your Customers (KYC) processes don’t work. While current KYC is “single-use”, SSI makes KYC “re-usable”, decentralised, privacy-preserving, cheaper, and future-proof.
